Summary:
Set in the changing world of the late 1960s, "Girl, Interrupted" is the searing true story of Susanna Kaysen (Winona Ryder), a young woman who finds herself at a renowned mental institution for troubled young women, where she must choose between the world of people who belong on the inside -- like the seductive and dangerous Lisa (Angelina Jolie) -- or the often difficult world of reality on the outside.

Review:
This is a very good film. Might not be everybody’s cup of tea…But it’s very, very good. With many tougher issues raised, it might not be the easiest to watch (although it’s no “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”, I’ll tell you) but with two exceedingly talented actresses at its forefront the film triumphs.

A young Angelina Jolie excels triumphantly in her role as Lisa. She’s eccentric and unpredictable but there’s a fear behind her eyes she tries to hide by behaving this way. Not an easy character I imagine. A fun one maybe for an enthusiastic actress like Anglina Jolie embarking on her film career. And on an unrelated note, I seem to rarely see her with blonde hair and it really suits her I think. But that’s not here nor there.

Winona Ryder portrays naïve and sensitive qualities that dwindle away as her character develops. She’s always a pleasure to watch, a talented actress. Again, perhaps not an easy character to play but she does so brilliantly.

For a sure it’s a film that’s well worth a watch.
